Our journey...

How did we begin this process of adopting? Well, I first felt the desire to add to our family and felt a call by God to adopt. Jason knew my heart, but didn't have the same desire, so we just started supporting the adoption funding ministry of Shaohannah's Hope. I prayed about it for months. Finally, Jason came to me and said he, also, now felt called by God to adopt a child. We, then, started the mass amount of paperwork, appointments, fingerprinting, phone calls, and home study in October of 2005.

China logged our paperwork in on April 4, 2006. This is our LID (Log In Date).

It has been an extremely long wait, a lot longer than we originally thought. There have been times of discouragement and wanting to give up, but we both just felt so called by God to do this. Plus, we felt like our daughter was in China and we couldn't give up on her. We had to bring her home and into our family!

Referalls usually come out once a month. This month referalls came out beginning of December and then, again, at the end of December. China has now gotten through LIDS April 3, 2006. When referalls come out next in January or February, WE WILL BE NEXT! We will, finally, get to see her precious face and know who she is! Once we get the referral we will leave for China 4-7 weeks later. We'll be in China for 16 days.

  1. God has always had a plan and purpose and although the timing has not been what we have wanted...it's still his perfect timing. The waiting has not been fun but it's been a testiment of faith. Way to stick with it and with her! Love you!
