It's amazing how by seeing a picture of the little girl God has chosen for us just a few weeks ago, who is all the way in China, that I love her so strongly and miss her and it's so powerful it brings tears to my eyes. It's the little things too, like wanting her chapped cheeks to be moisturized and desperately wanting to see her smile.  And wishing she knew she had a Daddy and Mommy that already love her and sisters and brothers that want her home. To the big things of wanting her to have surgery so she doesn't have a gapping hole in the roof of her mouth and wanting to hold her in my arms so she knows she is secure in our arms and secure in Jesus' love for her. Missing my baby girl today...

We have been matched to a little girl in China! She will be 2 years old in June. She has cleft lip (post-op.) and cleft palate. She's beautiful and we are so in love. We can't wait to bring her home! We can't share her picture until we have LOA (Letter of Approval) from China, which will be about 2 months. So you'll just have to trust us that she is a cutie and has captured our hearts! We covet your prayers especially for her, for all the medical appointments, procedures, surgeries she will have to endure, for all the paperwork that has to be done, for our trip, for our family.

We have a LID (Log In Date)! March 18! Recently it's been taking 10-15 business days from DTC to LID and it took us 3 busines days! We are that much closer to getting a referral! We are hoping to adopt a child with minor to moderate special needs. In order to be matched to a child with these needs you have to have a LID. So, now that we have a LID we can be matched to a child.

Dossier Has Been Sent to China! (Dossier to China)

Waiting...

All our paperwork, appointments, physicals, homestudy, training, passport pictures are completed. Next step is waiting to hear from Immigration so we can get our fingerprints done up in Denver, get approval from Immigration and then our dossier will be sent to China. We're hoping from now until our dossier is sent to China it will take about 1-2 months. Waiting, waiting, waiting is the key word. We're hoping for a referral (the picture and information about our new child) in the next 2 months! Most days we can't wait to bring her home and are very impatient! We remind ourselves that God called us to do this and this is all in His perfect timing, not ours!

Adopting Again...

March 15, 2010, in Nanchang, China, our daughter Jaylynn was placed in our arms for the first time. A moment we will never ever forget! As our plane took off out of the Guangdong airport, after being in China for 2 weeks, I felt like I left a piece of my heart there in China. Our hearts were forever changed and we had such an awareness now of all those children still in China without a family. Over the past 3 years since then, we felt God's nudging that we were to adopt again from China, giving one more child a forever family. We're so excited to have her join our family, to have her finally have a Daddy and Mommy and have sisters and brothers! Our homestudy is complete and now we wait....wait for a referral and to finally see our daughter's face for the first time.
